AMF Weekend a huge success! Raises over $40,00! Watch TV clip online!

On August 25, more than 200 members of the community – from children to physicians to cancer survivors – came together for the third annual Boot Camp 2 Beat Cancer to raise money for cancer research, offer hope to cancer survivors, and honor those who have lost their battles with cancer. With your help we raised $5,000 for cancer research at the Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke and to support grieving college students through National Students of AMF. Then, on the following day, 230 supporters joined us for the second annual AMF Banquet to celebrate the success of the National Students of AMF Support Network, raise money to provide grieving college students with support, and honor the life of Anne Marie Fajgenbaum! Highlights from the AMF Banquet include speeches by local and national heroes in the fight against terminal illness. Brooke McLaurin, the 2005 Miss North Carolina, accepted the 2007 AMF Service Award for her work to raise money and awareness for brain tumor organizations. She encouraged all of us to follow Tim McGraw’s words and “live like we were dying,” and she also reminded us to live like Anne Marie Fajgenbaum by sharing “unconditional love.” Your enthusiasm, dedication, and selfless giving helped us to raise $41,500, which will allow us to continue our efforts to support all grieving college students and fight back against terminal illness.
