Fajgenbaum continues to lead AMF while he studies cancer prevention at Oxford University

November 19, 2007

Under the leadership of David Fajgenbaum (Founder & Executive Director), National Students of AMF's Executive Leadership team has been working tirelessly to promote AMF's mission of supporting all grieving college students through a number of new programs. These include:

  • a marketing initiative to raise awareness about the needs of grieving college students through social networking sites,
  • an innovative strategy for developing and growing the current chapters of Students of AMF,
  • and an initiative to develop collaborations with other nonprofits in the fields of college development, mental health, bereavement, and youth service.
Along with making great strides toward reaching out to college students coping with the illness or loss of a loved one, David is also strongly striding down the path to become an oncologist and a future leader in public health.  To prepare himself for this future career and also to improve his leadership capabilities for AMF, David is studying for a Masters in Public Health at Oxford University (one year degree), with a focus on developing programs to prevent cancer and cardiovascular disease.

“I always wanted to become a doctor, but my mother’s battle with cancer inspired me to fight back against cancer by improving public health,” said Fajgenbaum.
